My Aspirations as a Husband/Father

I recently heard the song “Lead Me’ off of Sanctus Real’s newest album, Pieces of a Real Heart. The song really convicted me, practically answering a 2 year long question/struggle in my life in a 4 minute song. I’ve always worried about becoming the spiritual leader for Rachael and I. Furthermore, just being a leader at all of Rach is quite the task if you know her at all. This song really sums it up in its title: “Lead Me”. From this day on, this is my prayer, what I aspire to be.

Suits, STD’s and all that good stuff.

SuitsDon’t worry, STDs stands for save-the-dates!  Got your attention though didn’t it? Well today marks the return of class for Rachael and I after our spring break. Rachael enjoyed spending the week in Florida with some friends while I stayed home and played in my garden and did a multitude of other odds and ends. We apologize for not posting for some time now, but our professors think that right before spring break they need to bury us in tests and project deadlines.

Over the break I tried on a number of suits for the wedding. I’ve pretty well decided to go the suit route instead of renting tuxedos, because for around the same price you can get a nice suit and have something (more…)

We Want To Hear From You!

Where to begin?
Time has flown. I am cannot believe that it is already March! Five months from now Zach & I will be on some beach, somewhere. (If you don’t know, the honeymoon is a surprise for me! Zach planned & booked everything. All I know is that it is a sunny beach, and it’s not Florida! :) I am so very excited.) Anyways, Zach designed our Save-the-Date postcards, and they’ve come in. So, be watching your mailbox! Side Note: If you are reading this because you noticed our website on your postcard, we are so excited you decided to check us out! Be sure to leave your address and recipes!

School is going well for both of us. Zach loves all of his CGT classes. He also just got a job as a graphic designer for the communications department of the College of Technology. So far, he really likes it! I do enjoy my nursing classes, they are just so dang demanding!  Seems like I constantly have something that I should/could be working on.  I do have a clinical at a local nursing home this (more…)

Feeling Productive

I have to say that I have been too laid back about most of the wedding plans thus far.  However, last Thursday Zach decided it was about time we begin registering.  We’d been talking about the need for a while, but we finally went and did it!  We’re now registered at Wal-Mart, Kohls, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.  We did Wal-Mart first.  We found out the hard way that the Wal-Mart closest to campus does not have the “magic scanner.”  So, we headed out to the Wal-Mart by what will be our apartment next year!  (Post to come on that later!)  We registered for most of our fundamental things there.  We had fun; however, it was a Thursday.  Thursdays are my awful, long days and our Burn Notice nights, so we had to cut it short!  Our Kohls registry was our Valentine’s Date.  (Don’t worry, he took me out for lunch too!)
