Well, the wedding band purchases have been made!  That’s right!  And we are both really excited about them.  We have been “window shopping” for a while now, but we have now made our purchases.  Zach has known that he wanted a tungsten ring – they are so durable.  They don’t scratch easily, don’t bend, and they can be cut off in an emergency.  Also a plus, they are very affordable!!  Zach also knew that he wanted something a little more modern than a basic band but something that he would still like in 30 years.  So, after store and magazine browsing, he had a pretty good idea of what ring he was looking for.  We were just having a hard time finding it.  However, as we were “window shopping” at Kay Jewelers in the mall here in Lafayette, we found it!!  It is a tungsten band that is silver with a thin line of black in the middle.  (The picture is at the bottom of this post.)

Zach’s shopping seemed to be a lot more simple than mine.  Shocking, I know!  I am pretty sure that we have now been to almost every jewelry store that we have had access to since we’ve been engaged.  We each have different reasoning for that.  Zach likes to make sure he’s seen EVERYTHING, and that he’s going to get the best deal on what he’s buying.  It’s a great quality!  (That sometimes seems to be a little inconvenient.)  I, on the other hand, may be just a bit indecisive.  I can find all kinds of rings that I like at all kinds of prices (that he may not like).  However, I wanted to make sure that what we decided on now would be something that I will like my whole life.  Call me old fashioned, but I don’t want to upgrade my ring.  I want it to be the original one that Zach picked out and proposed to me with.  Same goes for the wedding band, I want it to be what I receive from him on our wedding day.  So, while in Louisville with my family this past weekend, we found my wedding bands!  Kay was having a great sale, and we happened to stop in while window shopping once again.  (Side note:  It was the third store we’d been in that day!)  Anyways, the lady who helped us was great and got us a really good deal.  We got two bands for the price we’d been seeing on a lot of single bands!  I am going to wear one on each side of my ring.  I am thinking of getting only one sautered to my engagement ring and wear the other on the inside.  This way I can wear only my band to work (rubber gloves aren’t kind to diamonds) and to do any mission work that the Lord may have in store for us.  – Ladies, if you feel like having them sautered or not sautered is better, I’d love your opinion/advice!!

So, here they are!  The wedding bands.  It’s real, people!  We are getting married in 94 days!!!
